What would really happen if superheroes became a reality?

Several years ago three people with special powers where discovered by a group of scientists called the White Coats.  They used these individuals to overthrow the governments of the US, Canada and Mexico and unite them into the U.N.A (United North America). The WCs considered themselves heroes for bringing peace and doing away with the corrupt democracy. And most of the people agreed with them, for they were kept safe by the "superheroes", now called Shulkerbahns. However, a group of teenagers called R.I.O.T have begun to rebel against the U.N.A, wishing for the democracy they remember from their childhood.All Rights Reserved

Nobody expects something supernatural to happen to them. Those kind of things only happened in comics. Fairy Tales. Unrealistic dreams that you'd fall asleep to, silently wishing for them to come true. At least, that was what these three teenagers thought. It turns out that there is so much more to their simple universe than they ever could have imagined. After each finding a strange alien artifact, the teens are suddenly thrusted into an intergalactic war. Alien species everywhere are trying to hunt down the most powerful weapons in the galaxy. And they are the ones in possession of it. When they run into a girl that claims to be from another planet, the three kids learn about the power given to them and the responsibilities that come along with it. Instantly, they are the most popular people in the galaxy. And for once, popularity couldn't feel more like a curse. Fighting grudges, fear, and distrust, the Chosen humans must travel to the one place on Earth where they might be safe. And with strange new powers, the teenagers struggle to live in the unfamiliar world they thought they knew so well.

Another ordinary day. That's what I thought. Boring and normal. Until everything was flipped upside down. Kidnapped, tested on, and then set into a new city I've never seen with no clue what was happening, or why. Then my supposed dream reached into the realms of possibility. I could be a hero. He just barely registered the girl's surprised expression before Drake's fist met Jamie's face. A searing pain shot through his cheek and up his nose. Something cracked loudly, and he fell to the ground, blinded with pain. There was muffled shouting and a faraway thump. Jamie reached up to touch his nose. It was sticky, and his fingers came away wet. His glasses had been punched off, and he couldn't see anything very well. Then he heard her voice. "I had it covered, you know." Jamie blinked, trying his best to see. Before he knew what was happening, she was touching his nose. He winced, expecting pain, but the throbbing began to subside until it disappeared almost entirely. Pressing something hard into his hand, Jamie realized she had found his glasses. The frames were bent and the glass had cracked. Jamie groaned. "I really should get some contacts." The girl laughed, and Jamie felt himself smile a little. She helped him to his feet, and he wobbled but stayed upright. "You okay?"

We knew something wasn't right from the moment we awoke. It was like something was missing - a part of our very souls - and we couldn't sense the deficiency, no matter how hard we tried. A hundred million eyes adjusted to the dark all at once, all surprised to be awakened so soon. We ran through our checklists of limbs and senses, drawing ourselves out of our dreams piece by piece. Some went back to sleep, unaware, unbothered, too tired to notice the difference. Some lay in bed, too anxious to stand until the light of dawn crept through their windows at last, and they were sure the monsters in their closets had gone back to sleep.
