Nightshade - A Superhero Story

"Crystal looked down, watching the red ribbons of blood snake their way down her torso. She watched, through the clouds of dust and smoke as her fellow comrades fell to the ground, still and lifeless. All around her, she heard the metallic clang of many guns being fired, and the screams of rockets being fired from cannons in the distance. Crystal struggled to stay awake, clinging dearly to what little hope she had that she would make it out. As her pain faded, and she became numb, she embraced the white light that had been calling her name. It was sweet and melodic, it was peaceful. Her body was numb, her mind fuzzy, and she went quietly into nothingness."

Cyphinius is a war torn planet. For a thousand years, the people have fought back in this seemingly endless war. Crystal is a high ranking member of military intelligence, and she must fight her way back home when she discovers a plot to destroy her home world. Her problem? She's stranded, and her only hope is a small, divided group of heroes.
