This story takes place immediately after the events of the groundbreaking Season 2 finale, Twilight of the Apprentice! With Ahsoka dead, Kanan blinded, and Maul on the loose the Ghost crew is now a rope about to snap. Ezra is now on a dark path and with no source of guidance he turns to the Sith holocron pulling him closer to the dark side.
