A absentee dad. A dead horse. A vow.

These series of harmless events led Fern Ashley Harvey into a depression. A big one. Guilt is a funny thing, the feeling in your stomach, sucking the happiness and making you feel like you would throw up.

We are all guilty for something; a crime, a failed math test, a lie. Fern is guilty for a murder. Not a the send-you-to-prison type, no, fern killed her best friend. It was unintentional, just when you lose focus.

She stopped doing what she loved to revenge her horses memory, stopped riding, stopped interacting with horses. Lost sight of the Olympic Dream that had almost become a reality.

So being sent to her father who she didn't even know was still alive, ranch, is definitely not her idea of fun for a summer.

Throw in three step-brats, a step-witch and horses, it's got a %100 guarantee that it's going to be the worst summer in the worst summer in history.

Then add a boy who annoys her constantly, and a horse who she has a feeling she needs to help. A community service so to speak.

But what happens when the horse heals her as much as she's doing to him?

Reagan Renne Walker left the tiny town that she grew up in in Wyoming five years ago to fulfill her dream of opening an equine therapy ranch in Montana & to start a new life. Reagan's parents died when she was just seven years old. Mallory, Reagan's older sister, was still too young to care for both herself and her sister. As a result, Reagan and Mallory were forced to live with their grandparents. Mamaw and Papaw Walker sent both girls through school and college. Reagan never imagined leaving Wyoming. However, after her unexpected relationship with Swayde, her childhood best friend, and love of her life, took a turn for the worst, all Reagan could think about was that she couldn't get out of Wyoming fast enough. Swayde is your typical, rugged cowboy. His smile was enough to melt any girls heart, his eyes made it seem like the sun was always shining, even in the worst storm, his square jaw line accented his dark beard, his body thick with muscles. His physical features and build were intimidating at times, and didn't always match his laid back, easy going, gentlemanly personality. Swayde never thought he would fall for feisty Reagan, and even more so, Reagan never thought that she would fall for him. They end up in this unexpected whirlwind relationship, and everything is hunky dory until Reagan finds out a secret from Swayde's past that would forever change the way she looked at him; a secret he kept from her for over ten years. Confiding in her grandma, Reagan finds out that her grandparents knew the secret all along too. How could the people she thought loved her hurt her so bad and keep this big of a secret from her for so long? When tragedy strikes back in Wyoming, Reagan is forced to move back to the town she swore she would never step boot in again, thus leaving her new life in Montana behind. Through God, can Reagan find a way to forgive the people who hurt her, or will she forever consider Alpine Ridge "Heartbreak Town?"

Helping her father earn desperately needed money, Ollie picks up a job at the local stables, a pristine english riding centre home to stuck up girls and beautiful horses that have never been loved. And it's getting hard to ignore her feelings when Gus, an arrogant, annoying yet gorgeous stablehand is thrown into the mix, his one mission - to break down Ollie's walls. Then, without even realising it, Ollie soon finds herself teaching Wilson Creek Stables her ways of horsemanship - the western art of creating bonds and being kind. Can they help her heal with her own broken horse? 'This book is legendary! It's truly compelling and brought me back time and time again. The characters are so easy to fall head over heels with, and the storyline is a complete bomb. "Dance with me." While I knew it wasn't a demand, it wasn't a question either. I hesitated and he noticed. "Come on Grace, give this gentleman the honor of a dance." "I don't see a gentleman anywhere." He chuckled, stepping closer and tucking his thumbs into his tight jean pockets. He looked like every woman's dream--dark jeans that hugged him sinfully, golden-tanned skin contrasted by his white-fitted shirt, a black, wide-brimmed cowboy hat, and a smile that could send any woman on her knees. Not to mention a voice that coated your skin like silk sheets. I hated how much I noticed. "You're right, but I would like the honor anyway... ma'am." ********************* Meet Grace--living the city life, reserved, eager to please, loyal to a fault. Feeling empty for reasons she's not yet sure of, she's adamant on chasing anything that makes her feel free. Meet Colt--living the country life, private, stubborn, outspoken. Feeling empty for reasons he's well aware of, he hides in his daily routine. Grace can't seem to figure out why she holds nothing back when it comes to Colt. He's absolutely infuriating. Colt can't seem to understand the affect Grace has on him, and why he cares what she does. She's entirely maddening. When the two get lost in the wilderness, it's up to Colt to get them back. Can they put their differences aside long enough to survive? Is it Colt who will save Grace, or is it she who will be his saving grace?
