Hannah Pixie Snowdon had a hard life filled with mental illness, drug abuse, domestic violence and murder. With Hannah's past, she has the right to be a socially detached. Hannah was diagnosed with Multiple Personality Disorder at the young age of just eight year old. She's gone through the past nine years of her life on her meds, listening to everything the doctors say to keep her check.

Her best friend, Calum Hood was fairly popular thanks to his status as captain of the school football (soccer) team, and he's always been there Hannah, but what happens when something unexpected happens to him?

Luke Hemmings is a fellow mental disorder kid, being diagnosed at the age of ten with bipolar disorder. Luke has known Hannah pretty much forever, but Hannah hasn't the slightest idea of who Luke is. When Calum rather abruptly leaves Hannah's life, Luke takes the opportunity to swoop in and save Hannah.

Their story-unlike most-does not have a happy ending.
