Alexandra believed Dillon understood her as no one ever had and they got on believing that commitment is nothing but a thorn on the backside. The closest they've come to it was their weekly ritual - Saturday nights spent in his bedroom which neither of them is ever likely to bail on. The logical thing to do was stick together. Birds of the same feather and all that. She teased, goaded and provoked him even though he was the only guy she couldn't accuse of being shallow or disgusting. But of course, she'd never admit that. He'd place bets on how long it would take her to get bored of her "toys" and they'd laugh at how men unwittingly made fools of themselves using stupid lines to get her into bed. Of course, her long parade of admirers didn't faze him at all. He knew she was far too smart to get herself in trouble a second time. Who was he to judge her, anyway? His trail was behind him but it was dark and savage, nonetheless. There were no rules when they were together, no stopping themselves from saying what they wanted to - except when it came to life before this. The one restriction in their messed up relationship was the past. Anything that has to do with it is strictly out of bounds. The unexpected appearance of a man throws them out of balance. Teetering on the edge of sanity, she must cope with her past coming back to slap her in the face as he valiantly tries to keep her upright every step of the way. As they struggle with the riotous feelings they have dangerously boiling to the surface, explosive fights blow up and kisses turn to chaos with every little touch. Dillon must deal with the fact that he may have stumbled upon the one thing he'd sworn off a long time ago by meeting Alexandra Udinov as she falls into the vicious muddle of loving the mystery of Dillon Casey - after all, in affairs that drew the line between life and death, who could she possibly trust?

I felt as if someone had dropped a boulder on my fragile heart. He peppered kisses on her neck and she giggled in response. Right in front of my eyes. I clenched my fist. Their proximity suffocated me. I couldn't breathe. Jealousy and agony gave way to pure rage and without thinking, I jerked the woman out of his hold and pushed her away. "What the hell," she glared at me and I glared back at her before turning my gaze on Alex. "Who is she? And why is she here?" I asked him and could hear my voice shaking because of the enormous rage I was feeling in that moment. I wanted to kill him along with her. He scanned my expression for a moment and then flicked his gaze away as if I don't even exist. "Let's get you to my room," he was about to grab her hand when I grabbed his. I turned to face the woman and gave her a death glare, "Leave." "What," She flicked her gaze on Alex who looked as taken aback as her. I was overly tempted to pluck her eyes out for looking at him. "Eyes here. I am his wife and the lady of this house. And I want you gone. Leave," I gritted out. Completely forgotten that I was going to leave this house tonight. "Only in the paper. And I am the owner of this house," he hissed in my face in a warning tone and then looked at the woman. "Go to my room, Selena," he told her in a stern tone. He was annoyed not by her but by me. I could feel his temper rising, but it was nowhere near mine. My heart shattered in million pieces when he said that. A drop of tear rolled down my cheek as I saw the woman taking the stairs from my peripheral view. My eyes were fixed on Alex who had his jaw set and eyes glaring fire.
