Whis was what the people of Fantasy called a Whisper, hence the name. She was born into slavery and never given a home. But on a slave/circus-route to Garden City she was contained with a mare who she found had an interesting spirit that had her thinking and doing things she'd never put across her mind before, and therefore, she made her plan of escape.
All would have gone fine, Whis and the mare would have been miles away from Garden City, if one single man hadn't gotten in her way.
Anakin Drennan, an insanely powerful man of Fantasy - in both magic and riches - had a hobby of saving a breed of creatures known as the Nyveari, so that their rare race didn't go extinct. The mare Whis planned to escape with, was one of those Nyveari, and just after Anakin saved the mare from her life of oppression, Whis showed up to try and save the day.
Not all went according to plan, for either of the Fantasians. Whis was given her wish of freedom in Anakin's home, and Anakin gained a strange young girl as a companion.
Follow Whis as she gains a new name for herself, friends among the most unlikely people and creatures, and a daughterly love for a man that has lost everything and yet asks for nothing.
And if she happens to get rid of an evil lord in the process, so be it.
This is not a romantic, but it is a story of love. This is a reminder from the author that anyone can be loved, be forgiven, be accepted, no matter who they are.

I am insufficient. Well, that's not my name obviously, but that's what my family has decided I am.
I'm Julie. I'm 14, about to be 15 years old. I have a twin sister, Jamie. Jamie is an angel. Perfect at everything, and can do no wrong. At least in my family's eyes. And I? I am not perfect. I am a disappointment. Though they've never said that to me outright, I know that's what they truly think.
The apparent "last straw" was when Jamie fucked up and I took the fall for it. Now, I'm on my way to live with some of my more distant relatives back in Italy. They're supposed to "put me back in my place."
So now I get to go live with 3 Italian Capo's.
Sounds like fun right?

What happens when Julie gets sent away? And what happens when her relatives receives a girl they had been brought to believe was a troublesome, borderline delinquent teenager, but is actually just a confused, dissociative little girl with a messed up idea of what family really means.
And what happens when Julie comes to realise that the people she was living with, weren't all who they said they were?
