"But Derek I don't think she's ready. She's only sixteen for christ sake!"
"We have no choice Christina, word has spread of people seeing Veronica and Lance around town," Derek said.
"Who the heck is Veronica and Lance? And what do they mean my destiny?" I say out loud. Maybe a little too loudly. Derek and Christina look to where I was.
"Yaya come out we need to talk. Not that you don't know what we were talking about," Christina said looking at me with a pitiful smile. "Exactly how much did you hear little one," Derek sighed. "Um, from when you-you were talking about my destiny?" I say looking down fiddling with my fingers head against the wall.
"So, Yaya you, you are a warrior. Your kind, the Xio, are here to protect us, the mortals, from the Alkins and destroy them all in the process," Derek explained to me.
