Then he died. That's good, right? Not quite. He was abusive, but still, he was the only family she had. And, not to mention, now she's mentally and physically scarred for life.
Now she lives with a loving foster family. Finally, a happy ending for our heroine! Nope. The kids at her new school bully her to no end. 

And one day, April Walter has had enough.
