As the moonless night dawned over the cold plains of Erebor, the fate of the young princes and the likelihood of there survival was pitiful. Their whole journey lead to the battle to end both sides. After Thorin had pushed away every ally over the fate of Arkenstone, his mind turned black and the line of Durin ceases to exist. Death, courage and a shadow of what was fell over the line of Durin in their last hours.
