Recently orphaned Amelia Sterling has only one thing on her mind: protect her brilliant, perhaps more than slightly mad genius inventor of a younger brother. If that necessitates such drastic measures as dressing as a man (itchy fake beard included) and posing as their fake guardian who receives the credit for Jasper's inventions, than so be it. She can handle it. Right up until they are both abducted by a motley crew of sky-pirates, led by the infuriating and annoyingly handsome Captain Maxwell, who are intent on using Jasper's brilliance to solve the small problem of a bomb on their stolen ship. With imperial persuit on the way and the clock ticking down, will Amelia and Jasper find a way out of their predicament? And will Captain Maxwell prove to be a prodigy of his breed and steal something Amelia is determined to guard with all her might, her heart?

The Marquess of Winchester
Amelia's been on the streets since she can remember. She's had a tough life, but it's made her into the strong, independent and fiery woman she is today. Ezra Beaumont, marquess of Winchester and future Duke, although thanks to his arrogance and narcissistic tendencies, he was sent to work down in the village with the local breadmaker in an attempt to humble him and make him a better person and better ruler by his parents the current Duke and Duchess of Winchester. Amelia's been trying to find her mother for as long as she can remember but all she has is a name. What neither Amelia nor Ezra knew, was that that name would connect them in a way neither would've ever imagined. She finds someone so broken under that cold exterior that she can't help but want to help him. They get thrown into a world of witches, wizards and magic and evil. They set off on a journey to become some of the most powerful witch and wizard to ever live, in order to defeat a great evil. Along the way, they recruit five other individuals each experienced in a different area of magic. Who will love and who will hate? Will encounters with the Wizard of Speed and time, the Admiral of the eight sea, the Janus sisters, the blind watchmaker help or hinder the Clockwork princess on her quest to rescue the real princess? Who kidnapped the real princess anyway and what will the kidnappers do if she is found? Children of all ages (8+) will enjoy this steampunk ride through a curious looking glass world. After an alien device uploads a huge data-dump into her mind, she blacks out .The craft blasts her back to its mothership manned by real life E.T.s who are anything but sweet and adorable. On one hand, there's Vortrand, the captain of the mothership. He claims only he should control the information encrypted in her head. In anyone else's hands, the decrypted data could lead to apocalyptic ends for all life in the universe. On the other hand, there's Vlex, Vortrand's prisoner who warns her the captain isn't what he seems. The information she carries once belonged to Vlex. Vortrand stole it and intends to use it to conquer any planet he comes across. Both men desperately want what Lily has. And maybe more. They swear they'll get her home as long as she gives them what they desire. What's Lily supposed to do when getting herself back to Earth means picking one? Writing this for a contest: (prompt 44) In the middle of a storm, a stranger arrives at her cabin, and she offers them shelter. But the storm's forecast said they'll be stuck for much longer than expected. *************** She was a squib, and she lived in the middle of the woods away from society. Her parents were purebloods, but they passed away from Dragon Pox, leaving the girl alone. She was raised away from society because her parents wanted to keep her safe from the wizarding world. Her parents raised her without magic, or if they did use magic, it was when she wasn't around or wasn't paying attention. She was oblivious to magic, because she had never seen it before. So, when a stranger arrives at her cabin in the middle of a wild storm, she was hesitant, because she had never been around anyone but her own parents before. When the forecast came through that the storm made it impossible for everyone to leave their homes, she realized she was stuck with the stranger longer than she anticipated. The stranger had an almost threatening aura around him, and that scared her slightly, but she couldn't help but feel intrigued by him. What she didn't know, was in the wizarding world, there was a special thing called soul mates. This stranger had arrived by accident, but there was reason. He had been trying to get away from the evil of his father, and went in search of his soul mate, but the storm slowed him down, unknowingly bringing him right to his soul mate's front door...

A headmaster, who came and offered Constance a chance at a better life. From that point on her life went up, at least she thought it had. Not much time passed when Constance recieved a letter from The Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, where her real adventure began. The real story actually began in her fifth year, but let's leave the details for later.
