Maingay ,mausok at mabaho ang paligid,dahil sa mga basurang nakatanbak.Iskwater area iyon sa lugar nang Pasig.Dito maraming taong naghahanapbuhay sa basura.Dito rin nakatira ang isang matanda.Siya ay si Lola Belen at may kasama siyang batang babae na maliksi at matalino .Iyon lagi ang kasama ni lola Belen sa kanilang maliit na barung-barong.Matnda na si Lola Belen kaya hindi na niya kaya ang sobrang init,ingay at usok kaya siya nmagkakasakit hangga't namatay.Ano kaya ang maging kapalaran nang batang babae na ngayo'y wala na ang itinuri niyang lola?

Anim na taong-gulang si Lhouie nang namatay ang matandang nag-aalaga sa kanya.Hindi niya tunay na lola si lola Belen pero,mahal niya si Lhouie tulad na rin sa tunay niyang apo.Iniwan nang mga anak niya si lola Belen kaya nag-iisa na lamang siya sa maliit niyang bahay sa iskwater.Nang makita at makilala siya ni Lucia.Ina ni Lhouie,ay iniwan niya ito sa matanda.
Apat na taong -gulang pa lamang si Lhouie noon.Nag-aaral pa kasi si Lucia noon at nang mabuntis siya ay inilihim niya ito sa mgamagulang niya.May kaibigan siyang doktora at iyon ang nag-aalaga sa kanya.
