To say the city of Celeste is in trouble would be an understatement. Demons known as Plagues are polluting the town and
devouring human souls. Worst of all, they're invisible to all but a select few, those that possess the Sight.
Kyrce Sirula is one of those few. He hunts Plagues for a living. While nothing about his job has ever been easy, things get a whole lot more complicated when a leader emerges and a young woman who also has the Sight appears. Not to mention an old enemy out for blood.
Leilia "Lei" Hollins has always seen things that weren't there. But her mundane life as a filing clerk is turned on its head when she's asked to keep watch on an eccentric but beautiful man. Turns out he knows a lot about the shadows that have been chasing her. Not one to sit on the sidelines, she decides to help him hunt the Plagues. And gets in way over her head.

Kids at school are cruel, they bully her brutally just because she's different. She simply waits for everything to get better, after all what's the point in trying when the world will do whatever they can to drag you down. Her only escape from this twisted reality is a creature named Shadow. A terrifying creature that is somehow more humane than the so-called humans around her. Shadow could easily take all her problems away, but Melody refuses to take the easy way out. That is, until she just couldn't take it anymore, she takes Shadow's offer and soon her life got better. Her bullies started disappearing, showing up dead in the woods. Their bodies badly mutilated, almost unrecognizable. Life at school started getting better, she finally had human friends and even a boyfriend. Her "father" was found dead at her house. The torture had finally ended. Unfortunately this story doesn't have a happy ending, after all karma always strikes back.Complete
