If you've ever watched Supernatural, you'll know how much influence a fanbase can have. If enough people are given something to believe in, it can result in unpredicatble and often times dangerous outcomes. In this particular case, the internet personality, Markiplier, had fabricated a dark version of himself. Aptly named Darkiplier. His fanbase was presented with this character of sorts and they ran with it. They ran with it until finally, it ran for itself.
