The Marked

Before written languages, stories were told around campfires from the Ancient ones. The spoke of glorious battles, and fierce warriors. They tell of humble beginnings, and death.

The stories are not kind, but they do not intend to scare the children. Behind every legend is truth. Only by generations of story telling do they get misconstrued. Every child grows up remembering a different version of the story, but all with the same characters.

In the land of Neoya there is one story that stands out, long lost to the fires. Only a few elders can recall the dire Prophecy that everyone has written off as a fable.

It speaks of Death and Greed like long lost friend, and when they finally meet in one form it will bring the end. The end of the Kingdoms, humanity, and everything good in the world. Once these two creatures meet a dark shadow will spread across everything light. Turning it black and dead. Only those with a Mark are able to withstand the corruption long enough to fight back.
