Everybody knew that giving a red cloak to a mere infant meant more than just warmth, it meant the child was destined for something greater, but what? Everybody wondered and watched as the child grew to a young woman.
Ariadne Mae Blackwell knew better than to venture past the stone walls of her village. Beyond lay a forest filled with secrets. A forest where people went to die. But now she’s lost in a world were nothing but the wolves and the birds survive, she knew that going out to search for her grandmother was dangerous, but not as dangerous as Gabriel had said it would be.
Gabriel O’Connelley was never afraid of the forest, he was a woodcutters son, he wasn’t supposed to be afraid but that feeling disappeared the moment Ariadne chose to step into a world that wasn’t meant for her. Ever since the first wolf appeared, moments after Ariadne chose to leave, waiting patiently beside the gates that led to the forest, Gabe knew that something was happening, something that would possibly change the lives of many people.
