I closed the door behind me, never turning my back, never allowing her the time to put herself together like she wanted. So she took a deep breath and a shaky smile, still staring at me in disbelief and happiness. I couldn't show those emotions back, it was better if I showed none as I was doing so, for both our sakes. She shouldn't focus on me, but on Sebastian. He was the one who needed her now.
"How did you find me, did your father...? Is your brother...does he know?" We all remained standing, everyone watching the others.

Couldn't you feel the sincerity within them, expressing my deep affection for you? Why didn't you see the love shining in them? Was it too complex to understand? Couldn't you notice the warmth as they gazed at you? They search for you in every corner, If only you realized how they silently echoed the emotions I couldn't articulate. They say, "Eyes never deceive." But what about yours? They played a trick on me when they met mine, painting a facade of a world that wasn't real. I wanted to so badly but I was exhausted from the hike and spending the night in the cold and shivering for hours. Shane's warm hands under my back and legs already felt way better. "This is all my fault. The one good thing to happen in my life...." Shane let out a sob but never stopped walking. I just wanted to hug him and tell him everything was going to be alright. I could feel the blood still tripping down my leg and face, so I knew I couldn't make false promises but Shane needed me. He needs me. I'm his anchor, I'm the girl he leans on when he's feeling like he's losing. I have to do this.
