I sat in the dark room, trembling. I hear someone open the door with a creak, and I turn my chair around to see my mom, my dad, and my big brother. "Honey," My mother whispered, brushing a strand of hair behind my ear. "I am so proud of you. You have been the best daughter anyone could ask for." Tears fell down her cheeks, and she wasn't afraid to let them show. "I just want you to know that you have the guts to win these games... and I will always be with you." She slowly unclasped her first and revealed a pearl necklace, making it look rainbow from the sun's reflection. There was also a charm hanging from the necklace, an axe. "This is so you can remember me, your family, and all of your own district 7." She clasped the necklace, and let my father and brother speak. Next was my older brother who was sobbing which seemed odd because he never cried. "Artemis..." He never called me by my first name! So what he's saying should be important. "No matter how much I teased or was hurt you, I did it because I love you. And I won't speak anymore so Dad can have a turn, but I want you to win this. For me." And that was all he said. Then Dad walked up, tears streaming down is face. "Artemis Katari. You have always been my motivation whenever I was chopping down trees and helping in the factories. You have made me who I am. And I want you to know that I am so happy to be your father." He smiled, then the peacekeeper rushed them out the door.

Pain, that was all I felt as her blade pierced my chest. A bloody smile made its way across my face as memories ran through your mind. I knew from the moment that I was told that I was a big sister that I was going to die because of him, for him. I just hope that he can finally make the world a peaceful place like he promised me he would. I winced as the pain got worse but I can bear the pain, for I know it will go away soon. I can see the blurry image of my fathers panicked and grief stricken face. "Don't worry dad, as long as he is ok" my eyes turned to my brother, the boy who saved me from the darkness. For him, I would do this over and over for eternity. Looking in his eyes I can see his pain and how I wished I could take it away, but as my eyes closed and I gave into the warm darkness, I heard my name, calling me back.
