Manic Delinquency

This is a play written about the mind of a bipolar type one teen; each "moment" or "snapshot" will have a "filter". A filter is like an Instagram filter to show the feeling and the setting of the emotions, to help you better understand the person being portrayed's point of view and how it feels and sets the mood for the person reflecting back on it. Names have been slightly changed to protect the ones written about.

The main characters will have no name, but will be speaking as the narrator, telling the story how they remember it. This play is about the mind of a teenage girl with Bipolar 1 who uses drugs and how her mind works with her drug use. She is a child prodigy in English and psychology and started college at 14. The other main character is another girl with borderline personality disorder, she has lost herself and can feel herself losing her grip. This story is how their worlds intertwine and how their disorders are similar. This story is a true story, based off of actual events in their life.
