Two years after the events of Devil May Cry 4, Dante returns to Fortuna Island, where he once again crosses paths with Nero, who is now the leader of an organization called "Golden Fortuna". Soon it becomes clear that this reunion is not solely about peace and harmony. A sudden attack by a large horde of demons suggests unrest in the demon world.
