Love and other calamities

Love and other calamities is the love story of Elijah Webster and Ruth Martin who were raised in a cult and who met when they were ten years old. The story follows their budding friendship from age ten to the destruction of their relationship by the hands of the prophet at age eighteen and finally, to their reunion seven years later. Love and other calamities is a story that showcases the power of love and how despite the supremacy of outside influences, when two hearts are joined in the most profound way, they become unstoppable. This story is about the power of love and how- even though it rips us apart and leaves us open and vulnerable- it is only with the certainty of love that, we are made to feel safe and secure.
