Diana De Vesci thought she had the world figured out. Boys were at best mildly interested in her. She was fairly boy crazy. She was plain. And there was absolutely no magic in the world. Nothing like her mother. Her mother was a practicing witch who believed in omens, spells, and dreams. In fact she put so much stock in dreams that because of one nightmare just after she was born Diana could never EVER swim for fear of losing her. One thing was for sure, her mother was crazy. But after being pushed into the pool on her seventeenth birthday everything changed. Suddenly she became the center of attention for the hottest boy in school, found her best friend furious with him, and began to see secrets brewing everywhere. As magic starts showing its ugly head, her friends start acting strange, and she finds herself embroiled in an ages old war between creatures she was sure couldn't exist she is forced to come the realization that we all must at that age: She can't possibly know everything.
