Dyl is the father of Jack, and at Jack's 17th birthday, the zombie-werewolf-vampire apocalypse occurs, and Dyl has to regain trust from his son after a bad history of alcoholism while trying to fight off all sorts of creatures. They meet and make allies as well as enemies along the way.
Also, yes, I didn't try to hard on the cover, though that's obvious.
