I was in a cage, some sort of red stones growing from the ground... wait, hang on, is that a... skull? There is a skull in the red stone thingy. The red gave it a bloody and violent look, and I had to use all my will not to touch. I am not touching it, because it looks sinister and evil.

Cullen knows Talila does not belong to his world, but once it comes to his attention that she struggles with herself and with Lyrium withdrawals, he finds himself all but jumping to her aid; Slowly he develops feelings for her and refuses to give up on her, regardless of what she says or does, but when Talila starts acting odd, combined with bouts of unexplained rage, it swiftly comes to his attention that her family lineage has more secrets then even Talila is aware of.

But when Tala's death comes after the destruction of Haven, it is only by the intervention of the Maker that Tala returns to the living, but it comes with a price. Tala loses her wolf form and becomes an everyday normal human. Now struggling with being a pure human, Tala must come to terms with needing to rely on her new friends for help and finds that sometimes being an average human can lead to some pretty amazing experiences.

She has a harder gaze then the both of us clearly done with this situation. "I've decided" she declares and when I open my mouth to object as it's my life she allows her vampire face to push forward showing her true form and I sink away keeping quiet. My father's wolf eyes glow red at her show. "Celine will become alpha. And if you resist you will come with me to the council" she smiles a smug smile and my father visible relaxes knowing my fate is sealed with him as going with my mother would mean almost certain death, he then holds his own smug smile. I don't know what it is that makes me snap well that's a lie it was their smug faces and the way my mother just decided for me like I was a child she had even raised. Before I know it I have shifted into my black wolf. My fur is short to my skin and looks as if its skin and I have rows of teeth. My parents shift my mother into a bat like human and my father to his salt and pepper furred giant wolfman. I lung straight for my mother with everything I have. I look at Sutton stopping my words. She looks at me with a sad smile taking a drink of her blood. "Please continue the story darling, it was just getting to the good part". With a dry swallow I continue.

She had been scrambling towards a sudden drop! The hands hauled her back, but she still struggled. She didn't want to look at it, and she still wasn't sure she wouldn't rather take her chances with the open air instead. "Stop it, I'm not going to hurt you! You'll hit your head on the rock or something. Wren, please!" It knew her name. Somehow it knew her. She was going to die! "Let me go! Stop touching me!" She was sitting on the rocky floor now with her back against an uneven wall, and it was trying to pin her down and hold her still. She kept her eyes turned away and struggled helplessly, but it was no use. It was strong like a human man too, and she couldn't keep it off of her. The wings had moved until they curved around them both and shut out a lot of the light. Its face was so near hers that she could feel its breath brushing against her skin. "Please just look at me for a second. Just look. I'm not going to hurt you." One of the hands grabbed her chin and forced her head to turn, and then she was looking straight into a pair of dark brown eyes. It had a human face too. She had been expecting something monstrous or ghastly, and the surprise made her falter for a moment. He looked young, with a bad haircut and an earnest expression on his face. "I'll let go of you, okay? Just don't lunge around like that anymore, you'll get hurt." He whispered.
