I never bothered to aim down my sights, I was blinded by the cascading snow.
I just wanted to pluck a couple leaves, eat some Reese's pieces, and go home. Leave the forest behind and pretend none of this is happening.
But that's not how it ends at all.
Itends with us killing each other behind each other's backs because we are so paranoid about this twisted virus. It ends with our species dying off.
But it's not over yet. I won't let it be over yet.
I have to find Cole and I's parents. I need to get back to Abigail. I need to make sure the others don't die, I couldn't let that happen.
So I shot down the second hunter.

Northern Exposure: The divided
Without warning it began! The inevitable, I think it's fair to assume this book is not in my possession. This means I'm most likely dead. Most nights I wrestle the reason I have chosen to explain what happened, the things we did to each other, things no human being should witness. I Wright this simply to enlighten your poor soul and give you more of a chance than I had. A chance to survive what is most likely the brink of human extinction. Times are harder now and as the days go by we are less of our former selves. We have become husks floating around in a lost, desolate world. I look at this place and it still seems so alien to me, as the days roll into the nights I'm still unsure of how we got to this point. If you are reading this, you too are probably North and very much aware of what has happened to our beloved city. I feel a responsibility to inform you that you will most likely share the same fate as I have. I understand you may be wondering what's worse than death, trust me in this place death seems like a paradise compared. I do not know why I still feel so obligated to write this. To be honest most nights I think its just an escape from the madness, like a natural sedative it's the only way I can fall asleep in this hell. However I do need to clear my conscious and pay dividend for my demons. I need you to know what happened to me; I need you to know what we have become and what we are capable of. I need you to know why we have chosen to kill each other, why the smell of human flesh lingers in the air like slow roast pork on a Sunday afternoon. Why bodies litter our streets. Why things that seemed to be so impossible happen in front of our very own eyes. Why conformity i this place is the unreal ideas people live their lives by and why I was included into this group of youthful abominations. What would you do if one second you were struggling to survive with your friends and mother in tow, and then you wake up to find yourself with a group of strangers the next - all during the country's takeover of blood-thirsty zeds? Megan couldn't believe her eyes. Her brain was muddled with confusion she couldn't get rid of, no matter how many times those strangers reassured her and explained what happened. But she had to accept it, even though it didn't make any sense to her. Megan had been with her mother every step of the way since everything turned to chaos, beginning just a year before, and now she was nowhere to be seen. And on top of that, she had the zeds to deal with. Ghastly creatures that used to be human, carrying a virus that's spread through a constant hunger for flesh from the host, spreading through bites and scratches. It didn't exactly make it easy to prevent getting infected. Things could have been worse, though, Megan thought. She could've been left all alone to ponder over her thoughts and fear over the future. It'll only be within the time spent with the new group will she find out that everything's not as happy and welcoming as it had seemed. These people had a few secrets of their own, including the real reason they took Megan in. Book 7 in the To Be A Runner series New allies, V-Type zombies, rising anarchists, and a country that can't seem to find stable ground. Yep, that seems about right. It's been six weeks since Sigrid was taken down, and in those times, things have gone to chaos. A power vacuum has been created, and people are desperate to find a way to keep everything from falling apart. The cure has been created, but V-Types, the unkillable zombies, still pose a threat. We aren't even sure if the cure works on them. Unfortunately, they aren't even our worse problems. The Last Riders, a chaotic group that for a long while did nothing but cause petty chaos and take lives whenever they could, have suddenly turned darker. They did terrible things before, but with the country split and the late leader being reveled as the monster she was, they've decided there's nothing left to live for. They're determined to take us all down. That's where I come in. As I put more effort in finding a cure for my immortality, as well as keeping my children safe and happy (one child in particular), I also must work remember put the most important things first-which is getting through this second wave of the apocalypse. It's a good thing we have Colonel Sage and... Veronica to help us. The question is though, can Abel really trust them? It seems we don't have much choice in the matter, but I've learned to keep an eye on everyone. And I believe I need to look back at the Vikings, learn from them and what we have from the Edda to figure out how to stop these V-Type zombies. It's time to be a warrior.
