Kassie wasn't religious, she scoffed at ghosts and reincarnation, until she finds herself in their world. A duplicate of our universe, but covered in a light haze, and filled with the ghosts of people's last moments. For someone who's never had too many responsibilities, finding out she must help the ghosts in Afterwhere "move on" along with a band of other people, stuck, like her, is a crippling shock from reality.
