The False Emperor reigns. Addy has grown up on the tales her great grandmother told of the old ways, the wars, the murders of the royal family and the destruction caused by the man who now claimed the thrones of the three kingdoms. She holds her great grandmother's faith and teachings close to her, not daring to reveal too much. The emperor is ruthless, rules by fear and pain. Any and all who speak against him are found and killed, if they are fortunate. Still, whispers travel through every city alley, reaching to the farthest farming village where she makes her home. The True Queen lives. The crown prince's daughter survived, had been swept out of the palace by a loyal maid twenty-four years ago. What is more, she had been with child, the heiress to the crown. Now, that heiress is amassing her army, gaining allies. Already, it is said, she has the Elfs' support, that she has allies in the other two kingdoms. The gods are watching, the whispers say.
