I've given myself a writing challenge, which is to write twenty short stories in December on given theme :) Today's theme is Separation. I decided to write a vignette the racial divides in America at the time of black slavery, but the separation is not exclusive to that. The slaves and servants of the household are divided, and the action of the story shows a young white woman who has just broken up with her fiancee.
