They were academic achievers (or overachievers??), rivals, and mortal enemies. In 2024, Alec and Magnus haven't seen each other in almost two decades. Alec is a successful corporate attorney in New York, while Magnus is leading his Broadway musical, moving from one place to another in search for work. When their paths cross again, feelings, rivalry, unresolved tension-everything rekindles. They try to see the other with the lens of the person they used to know a long time ago, but that person doesn't exist anymore. -- A "Then and Now" dual-timeline AU exploring Alec and Magnus' relationships through two timelines: their time as academic rivals in Idris High in 2004 where being at each other's throats was the default state of existence, and in 2024, where a chanced reunion brings back memories and deeply buried feelings.Complete

That's where I realised that by writing Malec stories, I was not only giving myself, but also the rest of the community, a refuge from the anxieties of everyday life. However, I plan to re- write it again because the story excites me and I wonder how I would do it with my current knowledge. If that happens, the original will still be here.
