Delilah is a dancer, and her plan is to continue to be one. She's been a child of the state since she was four, and has been in some pretty bad situations. This is by far the worst. She has to figure out some way to get out, but Lucas is violent and she has no idea what he'll do. She dreads taking him to court for what he's done, but can it be avoided? And when an extremely attractive boy gets moved to sit next to her on the bus, will she be able to stifle the feelings that start to surface?
Emory is a musician. He sings, and plays guitar and piano. His mother was murdered in front of him 7 years ago, and now he's just with his dad. His dad is rarely home. He's either buried in work, or drunk. Emory has spent years building a douchey façade that no one can break through. He meets this beautiful redhead, and he feels like those luminous green eyes can see right through them. Will he be able to hold up the glamour, even when he starts to catch feelings for her?
