Hi my name is Grace, Grace Foster. But all my friends call me Gracie, well those that are close to me. Everyone else just calls me princess, yep I’m a princess. Go head think what you want, that being a princess is easy and all the junk but it’s really not. I have to take these classes on how to walk, talk, eat, how to act, and not only those but normal school stuff too. You’re probably wondering what country do I rule that still has Kings and Queens. Well that’s easy, the Vampire world. Yes we do very much exist and live in the same world as you. We are normal, only thing that is different is that we do drink blood. We do need it to survive but all the rumors you hear about how we need it every day, that’s false. We only drink it once a month unless it’s a special occasion then it’s more than that. We do not sparkle in the sun light and no we are not all pale. Garlic and crosses do not harm us otherwise we couldn’t eat garlic bread and go to church. Vampires are not that bad, but then again I’m baized due to me being one. Any way back to me, I really dislike being treated differently. I never could handle everyone doing something for me. I was the stubborn child as my brother would say. My brother was the one that raised me making me look up to him. I’ve always wanted freedom but was never allowed to have it due to being a princess. My brother was my hero he helped me be the person I am today. When he was killed I was crushed, and forced to take his role. This is where our story begins…

I wonder why people feel like they have the right to ask me about my personal life. I don't know how many times a day I am asked, "Who are you? Where are you from? What are you mixed with?" My replies to those people are, "Why do you care where I'm from? It is your business to know what I am mixed with? How dare you overstep your boundaries and violate my space? Society judges my skin color, my hair, and my exotic features. It does not accept me for being who I am. I often hear, "You are too light to be black" or "You are too dark to be white." They size me up with their eyes of hate as if I asked for their opinion. I don't owe you an explanation. I am not on trial because of my background. I didn't choose my race. I did not ask to be here -- but I am here. I am not ashamed of who I am. You asked me, "Who am I?" The real question is, why are you obsessed with my race? Why is it any of your concern? I am Stella. I am 16 years old, and I am proud of who I am! I am biracial, and I am a human being just like you.
