Wings

Isn't it strange how a beautiful day can quickly turn into a nightmare? I used to enjoy staring out the window into the trees on a cold winter's day drive but now my memories block any beauty from coming my way. The tree branches remind me of the arms that had wrapped themselves around me ripping me from my life, my home, my family. The cold feeling of the snow reminds me of the table they laid me on and strapped me to. I miss the quiet the most, it could make anyone feel so alone. So at peace. It was my getaway, but I will never be able to have that anymore. Hope left me years ago.

All Greer Belle has ever known is that she was different. She was hidden from the world by her family and was told to keep herself from those who she loved. She was born with wings that projected themselves out of her back. Her mother and father taught her how to control her shifts and contain her powers over the few too little years of her childhood. Then one day while she was going to visit her grandparents with her family, armed men came and took her away. Greer had no idea that this would be the last time she would ever see her family, or the outside world. When she woke, she was in a strange white room. The white room has been all she has ever known, until she starts training. Greer is able to escape her white room and see others like her. She learns how to fight and control weapons through many tiring months. One day she is taken by her doctor, Dr. Sanders, and a few guards into a room where she meets someone. Someone who will change her life forever and could possibly lead to her freedom, but only if she complies with the orders from her doctors. What will Greer do? Find out by reading, Wings!
