One family. That's how it always seems to start. But rarely does it end that way. Ask Ashley, she knows firsthand. But it is harder for her because not only do her parents split, but neither let her go, so she is split too, right down the middle. Ashley Lester has always been that happy, optimistic girl, who is not afraid to smash a spider, or smack a bee. When she finds the girls boring to play with, she runs around in the mud playing football with the boys. That's just how she is. She is does have some girl genes too though. She loves dressing up to go out to fancy dinners and putting on excessive makeup whenever she gets her hands on it. But that all changes when quite suddenly her parents get divorced. She is torn, not knowing who to be with, her prim, proper beautiful mother or her rugged risk taking fun father. Both love her deeply, and want to take them with her. So both do, they each take a bit of her, leaving her torn. This is the story of an uneasy young girl facing problems she shouldn't yet be facing in a drama filled high school year.
