My mother walked me down the dark alley way at sunset, I was confused. "Mummy?"
"Yes darling? What is it?"
"Why are we here?"
"I can't look after you anymore. Can you please stay here? And don't go anywhere. Okay?"
My little five-year-old mind couldn't quite comprehend what was happening. "Yes mummy. I love you." She turned and walked off. I sat down and stayed there just as my mummy told me too.
An hour later I heard a sliding screeching noise like nails down a chalk board. I jumped up. "Who's there? What are you?"
A large dark figure stalked down the alley way towards me. Suddenly, somehow it was behind me with its arms around my neck. It felt like acid was pouring down my back. I blacked out from the pain.

As I leave, the cold British wind greets me. I zip up my sweater, and start walking home. Thanks to my parents, I don't have a car. "You're too irresponsible for a car, Courtney. You can always save up for one once you leave this house," my father had scoffed when I asked him. I walk at a fast pace, hoping to avoid any random strangers lurking in the dark streets. "Hey, darling. What are you doing all alone in the dark?" I hear a voice ask. I pick up his deep, British accent. I ignore him, and start jogging. Just a few more streets... I hear his swift feet, and he grabs me from behind, pressing a wet cloth on my face. He drags me behind a building. My muffled screams are the only noise in the silent night. I try to break from his strong, yet careful hold. I wiggle under his grip, but he only lets out a sigh. "Shhhhh...don't scream...everything will be alright...shhhh..." he whispers. I feel warm tears slide down my face, and my eyesight blurs, and I stop screaming and escaping. The last thing I see are the swaying trees. Then... Heather has lived her entire life believing her mother is crazy. She doesn't believe the stories that were told to her as a child, the stories about men descending from the sky to take her. She rejects the false narratives and tries to help her mother the best she can even if that means constantly moving and preparing for the men to come back. She doesn't envision a life beyond this, never expected to leave her mother until she is forced to in the most unexpected way. When the men from the sky take her instead. *** It was a short debate but enough to push me over the edge. Pher was right. I was making this too difficult. I should just do it. I had been fighting myself on this for too long. I didn't care what he was, I wanted this. I stared at his lips as he spoke, my own tingling in response. "I could show you that if you wanted. Most of the other things you can do are outside of the esta-" I pushed up on my toes and crashed my mouth to his. My actions were unexpected and rushed. I could tell by his reaction. He reared back but not enough to separate us. His hand flashing to my arm to still us and then he froze. I thought for a second, based on his lack of response, I had picked the wrong time. Or maybe he had changed his mind from two days ago. I went to pull away, flushing lightly with embarrassment. I didn't get to disconnect our lips before he unfroze and reacted. His grip tightened, his other one going to my hair to hold my head in place as he kissed me back with more intent than I even had started with. My body flushed for a different reason now.

That was my best friend Jayson" "Best friends don't have their hands all over you" he spat with a deep voice. "I owed him a - wait. I don't have to tell you anything" I yelled and walked around him. I started to walk back to the ballroom but my hand was yanked back. "What was he doing so close to your face?" his eyes now blacked. "He was looking at my necklace and you are very possessive over nothing" I spat turning around. I stopped when I heard a rip. I took a deep breathe and slowly turned around. I looked at Lucifer who had a smirk on his face. I looked down to see my necklace broken in pieces. Tears were now forming in my eyes. I bend down and scoped up the piece of necklace. "Don't tell me you're going to cry over a f*cking necklace" he chuckled in a deep voice. I took off my heels and held it in one hand and held the pieces of necklace in the other. Lucifer kept talking but I was just trying to hold my tears in. ********************************************* ATTENTION READERS!!! ONCE my mom told me that we, as humans, only fear what we do not know and that that is the sole reason for violence. We do not know what is to come of something, so in retaliation we immediately fight it off before we can ever find out; before we can ever see if there is any beauty in it. My mom is gone now. Along with any sanity we as a people have left. The year is 2193, and the world is at war. We, humans, are at war with each other only because of what we are and what we can do. We fear what we do not know, thus all we know is ignorance. The government, our democracy, our people and our world have fallen. Nothing good ever comes from being afraid of the abnormalities of others, especially when those abnormalities are amazing. The truth is, none of us are normal. Everyone's definition of normality is different, making it humanly impossible for anyone to ever accomplish the craved label of "normal". Then again, everything we have grown capable of was once described as humanly impossible. By those standards none of us are human. Not even me. A U T H O R ' S N O T E : This book is completed and there will be a second book coming out sometime next year, most likely in the summer. Please excuse any grammar issues or misspellings I have. I hope there are not many, but please consider I do all of the editing myself. Also this is a revised edition of Incapable - Book I: The Fallen. I think I have made it much better than the original story I wrote in the summer of this year and posted only a few months ago. I hope you enjoy! Happy reading. Xoxo, Miquéla P.S. I'm more than open to Q & A in the comments section or on my board if you have any questions regarding the book or just in general. :)

I actually did this story about over a month ago, I had just accidentally deleted it, so......yeah. Don't judge please! But, needless to day I am doing the story again so please read, if you like cool, if not, cool. I just love writing. So this story is based off of the villain's perspective. Here we go. No-one has ever loved me. Not one, except my mother, but she is dead now. Because of one word. Humans. They think they know everything, always trying to better the world when they are actually destroying it. Yet they blame me for everything, everything. Not one of them is different. They're all the same. I should know, since they are always out to get me almost every single day. But why do they blame me? I don't know, it's just in a mortal's nature to point the finger at someone else. It's stupid though. They know nothing of my story. Nothing of the Other Side.
