Its a few  years after the event of Angof and Agnes is living a good life. One day when she is out hunting a girl runs up to her, shows her a moon mark on her arm and then drops down dead. Agnes remembers a goddess called Nocturnal and how when one of her followers is ready to die they have to pass on the duty to someone else, and this girl just passed her's onto Agnes. Agnes had to travel to
the Temptationis tomb (a place where Nocturnal tests if your worthy enough to be one of her followers) and if she doesnt she will suffer forever in the afterlife which she doesn't want. Agnes likes doing things alone and isn't pleased when she finds out she had to do this with someone but slowly learns that maybe having a companion is a good thing.
