Of course Amara had never wanted her first date to be a fake one. But it was Daniel who asked her to go on one with Shae. Even though Shae was the one person she particularly had no interest in getting to know, Daniel had always been there for her after her brother disappeared and she didn't want to let him down. He needed her and she had to admit it felt good that he actually needed her for a change, instead of her just being on the receiving end of their relationship.
It's just one date where she has to pretend to like Shae.
