Atlas has fallen, and Teams RWBY and JNPR fall back while coming up with a plan to rescue (Y/N). But then they receive a distress signal from a team of soldiers stationed at a base called Romero Station, Teams RWBY and JNPR set out to investigate in the hopes that (Y/N) could be there. But little do they know that they are about to stumble upon a new threat, one that's possibly even more dangerous than the Grimm. Possibly more dangerous than Salem even. This story is inspired "The Last Voyage of the Infinite Succor" in the Halo Graphic Novel, John Carpenter's 1982 film "The Thing", and the first "Dead Space" game. There will also be some references to the various Field Logs of SCP-610 slipped in as well. Rated M for string language and violence.

-Cross-post from my Ao3- The Aftermath at Mount Massive is part one of a three part series called Survivors. This part is done. It is a fanfic for the game Outlast, set after the first game/DLC. However, you don't have to know much about the game to jump in. This story follows an independent journalist named Miles Upshur who received an email from a whistleblower, Waylon Park, who worked at Murkoff Psychiatric Systems: Mount Massive. The hospital was supposed to be run as a charity, offering help to those who could not pay, or for those who other hospitals wouldn't accept. However, things weren't as they seemed and Murkoff was using the hospital as a cover for a laboratory where they were performing experiments on humans. The end result of such experiments was the creation of Project Walrider, a bio-nanite parasite that lives inside a human body. Miles stumbles into the facility during a security breach and riot. He manages to survive the night but in doing so becomes infected with the nanites, becoming the new host for Project Walrider. The Aftermath of Mount Massive is about Miles coming to terms with what being the Host means for both his humanity and future.
