"Alec, you're gonna be gone forever?" Stella asked with a shaking voice. The hairs that had come undone from her braid tickled her forehead as she stared at her shoes.

"I think so, Ella," Alec replied, trying to look brave in front of his friend. 

"Will you forget about me?" the girl in the braids asked, looking at him.

"Never," the boy in the dirty sneakers replied.

"Promise?"

"Promise."
