Both paladins of red and blue have an unsettled score with each other, without Shiro there to make them behave and get along their hatred and jealousy envelops around the both of them. Allura is keeping secrets from the rest of the crew hoping they wouldn't find the missing/rejected Lion that was banished to a planet long ago. The only ones who are attempting to keep the team from falling apart are Pidge and Hunk but even they have their limits.
