There's only so much you can do as a human being, whether you have religion or not, think that there is more than just what we see, humans are minuscule. That philosophy can be a difficult one to adapt, especially in a position of power, one where you have power over human beings. James Tate Sr has been practicing Neurology for over eleven years, proudly fathering innovative Alzheimer's research and two children, girl and not so boy, Mitchell. Raised an orthodox Christian, James refuses to believe that his son doesn't want to be a boy anymore. As domestic life worsens, James will have to put away the animosity with his child to save his life, or at least try to. It seems as though God is trying to teach James a lesson as it is discovered his son has Becker's Muscular Dystrophy, a fatal neurological disease. It seems poetic in a sense, but James couldn't care less about that as there is nothing he won't do to save his son, but he can't help feeling Powerless.
