Rachel Dale and her brother, Paul, has an alcoholic father and a strict mother. Life has been that way since who knows when. But one summer day, Rachel's grandmother unexpectedly comes for a visit. Rachel's father and her grandmother has never been in good terms since her grandmother never approved of the marriage in the first place. And when Grandma Jean sees how much Rachel's father is a bad impact on her life, she decides to take her and Paul back to her place for a while. For this, Rachel and Paul has to leave their home, and go to the country side. Who knew that from that one small visit, Rachel's life would change forever?

Julia Ross runs into a mysterious boy at the carnival while watching her little sister. Strangely enough he ends up being the son of one of her dads co-workers.
