You all know the story of Cinderella. The story of how she was a servant with an evil step-mother and step-sisters. Remember how she went to a ball and fell in love with the prince. After the ball Cinderella tried on a glass slipper and married the prince. Well, this isn't your typical Cinderella story. This is a tale of how a lowly blacksmith's apprentice fell in love with a Princess; a Princess who wasn't a typical Princess. This Princess loved anything to do with sporting and fighting while her parents wanted her to be more like her cousin Cinderella. Sweet Dreams: A Modern Fairytale
This is inspired by a writing project I supervised when I worked with an elementary student. This writing project was a group project to make their own spin on a fairy tale assigned to the group. It had to have all the main points of their fairy tale, start and and with the common phrases of a fairy tale, and it had to have their own creative spin. My student did Cinderella, and it was so fun to work with him and his group, I wanted to make my own. Our dear Cinderella loves to bake, but she's not exactly looking for love when an opportunity to make a name for herself comes up. As for Prince Charming, he is looking for love, just not in the usual fairy tale fashion. And as usual, there's some extra mischief from the step family, royal family, and fairy godmother. "Well princess, looks like we match." a deep husky voice said into my ear. "Excuse me?" i asked, not completely sure what he ment. "Your costume. We match. Princess and prince." He said, gesturing to himself. Something about his presence scared me, but excited me at the same time. And I felt my heart rate speed up under his stare. "Actually, im a fairy." i said turning my shoulder so he could see my small wings. He gripped my shoulders tightly and ripped the wings from the material of my dress. His actions shocked me and i gasped feeling his warm hand on my neck and breath at my ear. "Not anymore, love. You're my princess now." I turned my head to look at him and found his face intimidatingly close to mine. I was searching through my head looking for anything to say. My instincts were telling me to push him away, but my hands wouldn't move. I was completely paralyzed by his stare.Zakończone
