Jess Arwick died on November 30, 2015 in a brutal car accident. The next time she opens her eyes, it's in The Manifest, a strange void empty of light. In The Manifest, Jess cannot do anything but float, wait for whatever is to come for her, whether it be good or bad. She cannot feel loneliness or depression. She doesn't even know if she can feel joy.
Until he starts talking to her. The voice of a young boy, lost in the void as well.
