When Mackenzie Stone moved to her new school in 6th grade, she became best friends with one person; Brendan Costner. Once 7th grade came, they didn't hang out for the next three years.
In 10th grade, Brendan's popular and Mackenzie is just off on the sidelines with her friends. After finding out that they have three classes together, Mackenzie does anything to try and talk to him again.
And Brendan realizes that he has been in love with her for the past three years. After hanging out for a few weeks, surprises are brought out and relationships are formed.
Brendan and Mackenzie do everything together for the next two months and then he finally asks her to homecoming, something she wasn't expecting. Mackenzie ends up going to the game, just to be heartbroken.
Brendan and his ex-girlfriend had kissed, in the middle of the football field, in-front of everyone. Mackenzie just ignores everyone, including her friends, and keeps a low profile for the rest of the school year.
The year quickly passes and it's already her junior year. After two months pass, she ends up going to the homecoming game, not knowing if she'll be able to handle it or not.
Along comes surprises, forgiveness, and love...
