Welding Simulator (DG-M-WS), is designed to give training of welding process and to monitor the performance of the welding operator. The unit monitors the efficiency of the welder by monitoring common faults that generally occur during the welding process. The operator uses welding torch without supply, therefore it saves a lot of power and offers a safer operation to a new welder. The unit has four built-in digital displays for monitoring different parameters.

Two Sensors are placed in a jig for start pulse and stop pulse. When the operator puts the welding probe near start sensor with proper distance from welding surface (10 mm) welding timer starts and when the operator reaches the stop sensor the timer will stop. The timer will display the time which the operator took for welding job of prefixed length. Speed Indicator will display the welding speed of the operator in mm/sec.

Two plates are placed as the welding barrier on the jig and contacts are connected to the controller. One side is in front of the welding area and another is in the back of the welding area. Welding should be done straight. If welding gun touches any of the sides, it will give audio/visual alarm for fault. Fault Indicator will show how many times the gun deviated from straight line position.

One special through-beam sensor is placed in between both the ends. If the welding gun blocks the beam of the sensor and goes straight in the same way that means that the welding is OK. And if the gun is lifted up while welding, the beam counter will count the fault and give an Audio/Visual signal.

The penetration fault is counted if Nozzle touches/penetrates at a depth having more than 10 mm (approximately) clearance. The probe position is sensed by the laser beam at the bottom propagating from one end to another end in horizontal line. The fault is indicated by beep & visual display.
