Her vicious scowl softened, confusion running wild. The dull drop in his silver eyes made her uneasy. Then he was gone.

To set the scene, the war was over. The Dark Lord had called for mercy, and surrendered, taking all the Death Eaters he had left to spare with him. There wasn't anything Hogwarts could do except acknowledge victory, and continue enrollment and have the last year students repeat the year they missed.
