Jamie is a young man who was born in 1900. He is now twenty years of age and the year is 1920. By this age he should be getting married and starting a family, but he doesn't think he's ready for this. 

His best friend is a woman named Elizabeth. She is the same age as Jamie and they have known each other since they were very young. Her father is in the Mafia and only wants the best for her. He can see the connection between Jamie and his daughter and makes the decision to arrange their marriage. 

Jamie loves Elizabeth, but not in the way her father seems to think. He doesn't have sexual or even romantic interest in women. He just didn't have those feelings. 

Elizabeth doesn't have romantic feelings for Jamie either. She loves him as her friend; the one she can ask for advice or go dress shopping with, not the one she is to marry. The wedding is called off by both of them, which angers her father. 

One drunken night leads to murder. How will Jamie ever be able to find love?
