In an effort to draw out new musicians, the recording studio 'Razor Recordings' decides to host a music contest with the band Marianas Trench as guest judges, open to everyone under the age of eighteen.
In comes the Cosmic Comets, a group of teens with rough pasts, whose only escape lies in music. 

Amanda and Warren, who are the children of billionaires and expected to become famous scientists like their parents and agree to an arranged marriage.

Aliza, a girl who is constantly bullied and lives with a single mom after her dad left her mom to be with another woman.

Juliette, a girl who has been bounced from foster home to foster home her whole life after being abandoned at an orphanage as a baby.

Luka Daniel, a boy whose mother hated him and left with his younger sister and turned her against him. His father is an alcoholic.

These teens all have their troubles, but they can play. The winner of the contest will get to record an album with Razor Recordings, and go on tour with Marianas Trench.
