Indie Gold suddenly wakes up in a clearing, not knowing how she got there or where she is. After an encounter with a wild tribesman and a soldier that saves her life, Indie comes across the strange town of North Star, where extraordinary abilities are the norm. Trapped in the town for the foreseeable future, she starts making her own life there while finding a way to get back home. Finding romance and friendship in the strangest of places, Indie starts falling in love with the small city. But her time is running out - her memories are slowly disappearing to the point where she will no longer remember her own name. And to make things worse, the ability she has developed while in North Star will get her drafted onto the front lines of the army if she doesn't keep it a secret.
