After the death of her brother, 12 year old Rian Fitzgerald goes into break down mode. She and her brother made a deal that he would push Rian until she was an Olympic hockey player. Now he is gone and she believes her Olympic dream is too, until three years later she finds herself putting on a team USA jersey and competing in the 2006 Turin Olympics. Over the years Rian has been able to cope with her brother's passing and has found closure from it, but at the expense of pushing the people she loves away. As she prepares to go to Russia to compete in the 2014 Sochi Olympics, she never guessed she would ever see those baby blue eyes again. The ones belonging to Patrick Kane. As the weeks move on, she finds herself falling for him, but pushes him away, afraid of losing him like her brother. Will Patrick be able to break the walls Rian has built over the years or will Rian push him away like she has with everyone else?

Caroline is the daughter of the greatest goalie to ever play the game. Even though her mother passed years before, she followed in her parents footsteps to write, and to write about hockey. She meets up and coming goaltender Corey Crawford on the way to training camp and they quickly become friends. Corey finds her interesting and she sees a lot of her father in him. They hit it off but there's a few problems. One is that Corey is in a relationship whether he wants to admit it or not. Another is that Caroline's sweet and soft personality does not match Corey's dangerous and outgoing one. But in times of need it's each other they lean on and support. Eventually their true feelings come out but the fear is that it is too late. Can they be together or will fate find a way to keep them apart?
